High purity graphite has the advantages of high strength, good thermal shock resistance, high temperature resistance, oxidation resistance, low resistance, corrosion resistance, easy precision machining and so on.It is used for processing and manufacturing electric heating elements, structural casting molds, crucible vessels for smelting high purity metal, heater for single crystal furnace, graphite for edm processing, sintering mold, electron tube anode, metal coating and plating, graphite crucible for semiconductor technology, graphite anode and grid for emission tube, thyrister and mercury arc rectifier, etc.
Special properties of high purity graphite:
1, high temperature resistance: graphite melting point is 3850±50℃, boiling point is 4250℃, even after ultra-high temperature arc burning, weight loss is very small, thermal expansion coefficient is very small.The strength of graphite increased with temperature, and doubled at 2000℃.
2, electrical, thermal conductivity: graphite conductivity than the general non-metallic ore 100 times higher.The thermal conductivity is higher than steel, iron, lead and other metal materials.The thermal conductivity decreases with the increase of temperature, even at very high temperature, graphite becomes an adiabatic body.Graphite conducts electricity because each carbon atom forms only three covalent bonds with other carbon atoms, and each carbon atom still retains a free electron to transfer charge.
Lubricity: the lubrication performance of graphite depends on the size of graphite scales, the larger the scale, the smaller the friction coefficient, the better the lubrication performance.
4, chemical stability: graphite at room temperature has good chemical stability, can withstand acid, alkali and organic solvent corrosion.
5, plasticity: graphite toughness, can be rolled into very thin sheets.
6, thermal shock resistance: graphite at room temperature when used can withstand drastic changes in temperature without damage, temperature abrupt change, the volume of graphite does not change, will not crack.
